War...What is it good for?

War. No one likes to hear the sounds of guns being fired or the sight of men being blown in half. In fact, many are opposed to the war we as the American people are involved in at this very moment. Operation: Iraqi Freedom.

Moms, families, and practically everyone else in the country at this current time have been somehow affected by this war. Not all are happy with it, and even though some are unhappy, they are more and more realizing it may be an almost necessary fact that war was the next step for the security of our nation.

Critics have been totally tearing apart President George W. Bush's decision to go to war in the first place, but most of them haven't perhaps even seen the reasons for us being there anyways!

Iraqi's are continously growing in their realization of this and are taking more actions to welcome and embrace the American military with open arms. They are starting to see that we are there to help and heal, NOT to destroy their families, or ours. In fact, some of the critics here could take some hints from this and in fact, be understanding as to why the soldiers, our brothers, dads, uncles, husbands, and cousins, are over there.

Bravery. Honor. Courage. These are just some of the endless endearing terms we could use to describe the characteristics of our soldiers and military heroes.

More soldiers are also now realizing that civilian casualties are down nearly a third than they were since when the war first began. Iraqi children trust these American soldiers. Mayors of cities that have been successfully healed by our forces over in the Middle East are saying that wish we never would leave. The Iraqi people are now turning to the American soldiers instead of their own soldiers and government for aide in whatever they need. American troops are securing the streets of Iraq, making it not only safer for the time being, but for the future of Iraq and their people as well. It seems that instead of being painted as horrid, torturous Americans who love to send their men and women to war, we are being seen by the Iraqis as a beakon of hope and help. So why don't our own people see this as well?

Good Stinkin' Question!
