The Most Compelling and Inspiring Person I have Learned About in World History II this Year.

Over the past school year, we have learned about many different people that greatly effected and made a heavy impact on the history of the modern-day world as we know it. However, overall the people we have explored, I would have to say that Martin Luther was my favorite, most inspiring, most compelling, most life-changing person to learn about.

The life and works of Martin Luther really opened my eyes. He made me think about why I believe in what I believe in and why it is important and matters to me. His example of starting the huge changes and Reformation within his church, really made me examine my own life and the daily teachings of that of my own church and question as to whether or not our beliefs were right on target with what God says in the Bible.

Even when no one would listen to his ideas about the changes that needed to be made, he didn't quit. Martin Luther's life also displayed, in this way, his persistant perserverance and determination to set things right. This was probably best displayed when he boldly made the statement of nailing the infamous 95 theses to the church door, for ALL to see.

All in all, Luther really has made a HUGE impact on how I now view the world and it makes me strive to make the decisions that need to be made in order to change my world. He is my example of how being bold and sticking by what you truly believe in, will impact the world for the better and if not change it forever, it will definately make people wonder and make them think of what you left them with.
